Academics are a main priority at Edgewood Academy. As a college-preparatory school, Edgewood encourages academic excellence and constantly seeks to provide the best learning atmosphere for its students. With a solid academic foundation in kindergarten through twelfth grade, Edgewood students have continually scored well above national averages on the Stanford Achievement Test. All teachers have appropriate degrees and are dedicated to provide a caring as well as challenging environment for students.
The Board of Trustees Education Committee continually works with the teachers and the community to improve the course offerings and the learning materials for the school. The area of technology is a priority and is implemented in all levels of learning.
Edgewood Academy has been accredited by the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) since 1974 and as of the 2003-04 school year, it is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS, the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation Alliance (CITA). . This accreditation assures our graduates that they are getting the preparation they will need to continue their education to any college they may aspire to attend.
