Spring Break Resort Special (see Hot Topics for details) 2010 State Science Fair Winner Jeremy Bell wins 2nd place in the Physical Science category at state competition. Jeremy created an experiment to see if sound waves can be seen. He used a ruben tube and fire to achieve his goals. In the Physical Science category Jeremy won 1st place, 3rd place at district, and 2nd place at the state level. He said his favorite part of the experiment was watching the songs. Edgewood Varsity Softball Teams Wins Tournament Over the weekend of March 6, 2010, Edgewood's Varsity Softball team won 1st place in the Colts Classic Tournament held at Hooper. The team went 4&0. Kaetlen Brown, Mallory Garmon, and Dawne West were named the all-tournament team. Kaetlen Brown was named tournament MVP.

Wetumpka Rotary Club Speech Contest 
and was awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship. She
spoke on the gambling industry in Alabama.

On Feb. 26-27, 2010 members of the Government Club took part in the 62nd Alabama YMCA Annual Youth Legislature Conference in Montgomery, AL.
Amber Voss- Senate Floor Leader, Danielle Carter- Co-Editor Press, and Jessica Flournoy, Tricia Ward, Carrie Mason- Press members. Amber Voss was awarded the Servant Leadership Scholarship and was selected to represent Alabama as a delegate at the Conference on National Affairs. Danielle Carter won the Best Press Writer Award.
